Pregnancy Myotherapy and massage aims to help relieve pain and discomfort associated with joint pain and muscular aches, working to improve blood circulation, whilst promoting relaxation and stress reduction. Using our specialised pregnancy cushion, you are able to safely and comfortably lie face down during your treatment - it is as amazing as it sounds!
How Does Myotherapy and Massage Work during Pregnancy?

During your Initial Appointment, we will go into your medical history including updates with your pregnancy. We like to know of any recent appointments or scans, blood tests or other required tests, blood pressure readings, and any conditions or concerns we might need to know. This helps us be an extra support person along the way.
We’ll also have a good chat about what has brought you into the clinic, answering any questions you might have too.

Once determining the reason for your visit, we may do a movement assessment or palpate areas of your body to check for restriction or pain.

Heres the good part - using our specially designed full-length pregnancy cushion that allows you to safely and comfortably lie face down, we work to ease pain and discomfort using a combination of hands on techniques.

Following your first appointment, we put together a treatment plan in order to guide and support you through the remainder of your pregnancy.

When can I start Pregnancy Myotherapy and Massage?
Congratulations on your pregnancy! Due to our specialised knowledge and experience in treating women in pregnancy, we can start treating women during their first trimester. Most women like to hold off until they are in their second trimester and their nausea has settled, but it is safe to commence treatment at any time in your pregnancy.
I am having a high-risk pregnancy, can I still have treatment?
It can still be possible to receive Myotherapy and Massage treatment in a high-risk pregnancy. We just like to check with and get the all clear from your primary care provider first.
How far through my pregnancy can I receive treatment?
It is safe to receive treatment all the way up until the arrival of your baby! As long as you still feel comfortable and safe driving to attend your appointment, we can still treat you.
Do you have any belly bands or support garments available in clinic?
Yes! We stock a few support products that can be incredibly helpful in pregnancy in reducing pelvic girdle pain and supporting your abdominal muscles. Contact us if you would like to purchase any of these items.
